Everything it does

Typeflo is a menu bar app. These are all of its tricks.

Ghost text at your caret

Type, and a grey suggestion appears right where you are typing, in the text fields of your apps. If a suggestion would be wrong or unsafe, Typeflo shows nothing.

Tab takes a word

Tab takes the next word. The backtick key, just above Tab, takes the whole suggestion. Esc dismisses it, and any other key just types through. All of these can be rebound.

Runs on your Mac

The model runs on your Mac. No account, no server, no analytics. The only network use is downloading the model you choose.

Swap the model

Use Gemma 4 E2B (about 3.3 GB, the default), the larger E4B (about 5.2 GB), or Apple's on-device model with no download when Apple Intelligence is on.

Pick your apps

Switch completions off per app or per website. Terminals, password managers and password fields are off by default.

Typos handled

While the word you are typing looks misspelled, Typeflo stays quiet, and can show the fix inline: the typo struck through, the correction beside it.

Learns your voice

Typeflo can learn from your writing to choose words the way you do. It is stored encrypted on your Mac, switchable per app, and one button deletes it all.

Emoji on a colon

Type a colon to get emoji suggestions with a filter, or let text emoticons like :-) and <3 suggest the real thing. Pick a skin tone once.

Short, medium or long

Choose how much to suggest: about 2, 4 or 8 words at most. Typeflo can also complete inside existing text, mid-line, if you turn that on.

Kind to your battery

On battery, Typeflo can wait until you ask, use a smaller model and write slightly shorter completions. The model also unloads when you stop typing for a while.

Optional context

Let it read the clipboard or the text on screen for better suggestions, and match your font and background. All of it is off by default and stays on your Mac.

Alternatives and synonyms

In Labs: other words below the cursor, picked with a number key, and synonyms for the words you select. Both are off until you turn them on.

Your numbers

See today's completions, words and characters, a chart by day, week or month, and an estimate of the time you saved.

Native and light

Written in Swift, with AppKit for the overlay and SwiftUI for settings. It lives in the menu bar, and the model unloads after you stop typing.
